Add a Function (shortcut) to complete and delete a mirrored line it in one operation

It has been suggested mirroring items from a Projects area to a today or calendar area to work on them. This lets me re-order the today items to my liking independent of where they are located in the Projects area.

In these cases it would be handy to be able to complete the mirrored item in the Today/Calendar area (which completes it for Project area too) and then delete it from the today/calendar area.

Maybe this is lazy on my part, and if there were more than one mirror out there it could even be confusing. But given the work-around method of using mirrors to manage the day, it might be generally useful idea to have a complete-delete mirrored item shortcut.

Sorry if I’m misunderstanding something, but if you want the mirrored node to be completed and deleted, why not just not mirror it, just move it across? The way I do it is anything that can be completed and deleted I more across… anything that needs to stay in the project because it repeatable I mirror across.

I’m a Workflowy user, but not a power user as yet. But my understanding from some videos online is that some experienced users keep everything under projects (whether it is repeat task or simply to archive the fact there that the task was done, and notes on how it was done).

When they Schedule the task, their process is to mirror it (unless trivial) to ‘Today’/‘ThisWeek’/ or ‘Calendar’.

The idea behind my request is when a mirrored task is completed in ‘Today’/‘ThisWeek’/ or ‘Calendar’, then it would be deleted there with a single command, leaving the ‘completed’ (formerly mirrored) task still documented in Project.

Command could be called ‘Complete&Delete’ and could apply to any item (mirrored or not). If a user chose ‘Undo’ it would first unDelete the item, then it would unComplete it.

I accept that the philosophy of Workflowy is to keep things as simple as possible, and therefore adding this request might not be worth it. Curious what experienced users think.

A similar but unrelated thought is that Duplicate should allow pulling from another area of tree (like mirroring or backlinking do.) Right now to pull from another area one needs to mirror it, and then detach mirror. Or setup a Template. Or Duplicate in Place and Move it elsewhere. A ’ DuplicateFrom’ command seems like it fits with Workflowy philosophy of having more static areas of the tree, and more dynamic areas. But as above, maybe having fewer commands outweighs the benefits. Curious what experienced users think.

I’m struggling with Workflowy in many ways. It’s such a beautiful program with the tree. Daily notetaking is super easy in the new calendar. But the structure of setting up a filterable live todo list such as Airtable with nice dropdowns, and live grouping is appealing to me as well (none of the mirroring stuff above is necessary with a DB). Both Apps require a lot of personal discipline on my part to maintain, which is likely where the actual problem lies.
