Android "App shortcut" to significantly speed up "Jump to"

On Android, getting to a certain location is most quickly accomplished using the “Jump to” feature in 4 taps plus typing. This could be reduced to 1 tap plus typing using an Android App Shortcut that goes directly to the “Jump to” feature. We already have the “Quick Add” shortcut which works great. This could be implemented similarly in just a few lines of code (I’m a developer). Please ask if there’s anything I can do to help make this happen!

Wait, what? When was this introduced?! I have been looking and asking for this feature for a long time and in various places (2023, 2024, 2025) and nobody ever mentioned this to me.

Is it a new feature? The iOS/macOS version was announced explicitly, as was the desktop version, but I can’t find any public mentions of the Android version. In fact, official Quick capture documentation only mentions the desktop version — not even the iOS feature, which is older, is mentioned there

I hadn’t noticed the Android Quick Add shortcut either. On my Pixel 9 with Nova Launcher, here were the steps to use it:

  • Long-press on the home screen
  • Choose Widgets
  • Scroll to Workflowy
  • Drag the “Quick Add Shortcut” to my home screen

Then I can click that widget to bring up a text box, type something, and hit Send. The item is created in my Inbox. The text box stays visible so that I can add additional items then click X when finished. Nice.
