BUG: collapse_all in command pallete not working as expected

When using the command palette (and therefore, custom hotkeys that use it) the command “collapse_all” does not behave as expected (i.e, Collapse All). It only collapses the currently selected item instead of ‘all’.

Perhaps there could be separate commands: ‘collapse_all’ and ‘collapse selected’ and ‘collapse selected & children’ to avoid confusion?

It’s not a bug, but a deliberate design.

There are two collapse_all.

  • the collapse_all in the three-dot menu.

    • It just collapse everything in the focused pane. (Exactly like you put the cursor in the pane title, then click the shortcut collapse_all.
  • the shortcut collapse_all or “collapse all below the cursor”

    • A more literal translation is just like collapse all below the cursor.

So we definitely need both options. I did this feature request: a collapse_all shortcut exactly like the collapse_all item in the three-dot menu.

Add a Collapse All shortcut that works exactly like the Collapse All option in the three-dot menu

Thank you, Victor.

Slight changing in the naming convention would definitely help to keep them from being confused with each other when appearing in a large list together such as hot-keys or other command lists.
