Overview
When exporting formatted nodes from Workflowy and re-importing the resulting files back into Workflowy, neither Markdown nor OPML preserves the original document formatting or rich-text styling. Re-importing content results in syntax corruption, stripped font colors, or lost highlights.
Impact
Workflowy cannot be reliably used to backup, restore, or transfer journals, databases, or reference materials without incurring permanent data loss or visual corruption.
