On Linux (Gnome 42) and using WF 4.3.2508061543-beta
- In browsers: Chromium 138.0.7204.183 AND Firefox 140.1.0esr
- and in the Linux AppImage
What I did
I added a note to an node then viewed that node in board view.
What I expected
The horizontal scroll bar would appear as I mouse over the bottom of the window. Then I can scroll left-right.
What actually happens
The horizontal scroller does not appear when I mouse over it; I can’t scroll left-right. But the vertical scroller appears! Then I scroll down to see and use horizontal scroller.
Further
- The more lines of notes, the more I have to scroll down.
- When I remove the note, the vertical scroller disappears and horizontal scroller appears as expected: at the bottom.
- Does not seem to matter whether I am using WF in full-screen mode.
Here is my test node (view only): Test Horizontal Scroll in board view when this node has a note - WorkFlowy
Hi Michael,
Are you talking about the following situation? Could you test there and tell me if you see the exact same thing you’re describing?:
Hi Frank,
Yes. In your test, there are four columns and they initially all fit on my screen, thus no need to scroll left-right. So I narrowed my window so that all 4 columns do not all fit (left to right) on one screen and I would need to scroll to see all the columns. I also tried widening some of the columns so that they don’t all fit
When I did either of these, the horizontal scroll bar won’t show, I can’t click-and-drag it to scroll left-right, and I can’t (with my laptop trackpad), use two-finger scrolling left-right.
When I scroll the page (not any column) down a bit, then the horizontal scroll bar appears, I can click-and-drag it to scroll left-right, and I can use two-finger scrolling left-right on the touchpad.
I find that when I remove the notes of the main node (in your test, the three “querty” lines) completely (including any blank lines), the horizontal scrolling works as expected: the bar appears as soon as/whenever the columns don’t fit on the screen, I can click-and-drag the bar to scroll left-right, and I can use two-finger scrolling left-right on the touch pad. No vertical scrolling needed.
