Panes · Stars · Search · Mirrors · Comments · Templates · MCP

  • 1592/1 The desktop app can now save daily local backups of your outline. Choose a folder, preferred time, and retention period, or run a backup manually. Attachments are not included.
  • With Conversations enabled, you can add, change, or remove a profile photo in Settings → Account; photos appear in @mention suggestions.
  • 1308/2 Widening a pane no longer squeezes its neighbor, and the rightmost pane can now be resized. After the initial split, opening additional panes preserves existing widths; layouts wider than the window also keep their widths when the window or sidebar changes.
  • Pane widths now survive reloads and new sessions when reopening the same pane layout. Opening an ordinary Workflowy tab no longer clears another tab’s saved pane widths.
  • Each pane now remembers which branches you expanded or collapsed while you zoom and navigate within it, until the pane is closed or reloaded.
  • 1502/1 1509/1 Breadcrumb links under Found Dates and in the mirrors dialog now navigate the pane you are using, instead of switching to the leftmost pane or doing nothing.
  • Opening a mirrored item in a pane now keeps the location of the mirror you clicked. Resizing no longer loses the pane’s location, and Shift-clicking an internal link follows it within that pane.
  • 1443/1 In the desktop app, Command-click on macOS, Ctrl-click on Windows and Linux, and Alt-click on sidebar items now open panes correctly, including saved searches.
  • 1426/13 Pane search now keeps the cursor in the search box as results appear. Star in the pane’s header menu saves the current search, including searches from Home.
  • Searching for is:draft in a pane now finds matching comment drafts.
  • Relative-date searches in Jump to, Move to, and Mirror to stay responsive while scanning large outlines. Changing the query or closing search also stops the previous search.
  • Fixed creating a mirror across browser tabs when the item being copied is already a mirror.
  • Pasting multiple lines into a comment draft now adds them beneath that draft, preserving its existing text, instead of creating separate drafts.
  • Zoomed item titles, including pane titles, now show a blue dot for unread mentions below them. In comments, paragraphs with unread mentions can be marked read individually once the comment itself is read.
  • On mobile, Add from Template now uses a standard drawer menu and respects the device screen bottom safe-area.
  • Fixed Google sign-in on Linux so the browser can return you to the desktop app to finish signing in.
  • 1390/1 1254/15 Fixed an issue that prevented AI apps such as Claude Desktop from editing items through Local MCP.
  • AI apps connected through Local MCP can now change an existing item’s format while preserving its comments and backlinks.
  • The Settings header and its Jump to menu now scroll with the page instead of staying pinned.
