Feature Requests: Add a Collapse All shortcut that works exactly like the Collapse All option in the three-dot menu

The current behavior collapse_all keyboard shortcut based on the cursor position, but besides this what we need is a one-click shortcut that collapses everything in the current focused pane without changing the cursor position.

Right now, the only workaround is to open the three-dot menu, scroll the wheel, and manually select Collapse All, which is unnecessarily cumbersome. A dedicated shortcut would make this much more efficient.

What is the frequent use case for this?

Same scenario as the Collapse All option in the three-dot menu, but quicker. When you use this, your cursor can keep its original position.

Sorry to be unclear. I understand what it does, but why is this necessary to do so frequently that there should be a separate command for it?

I find myself “collapse-all”-ing my entire list often as a method of ‘cleaning up’ during a lot of navigating. Collapsing only children happends just as often. It is quicker to collapse all, then expand the nodes you wish, than to close many node one at a time.

A useful side-effect of this is that the next time you open Workflowy, everything is collapsed into a tidy state.

I totally agree with you, and I’m facing exactly the same scenario, so we definitely need both options.

I currently use Keyboard Maestro or AHK to create a series of action shortcuts just to combine the ‘Focus Parent’ and ‘Collapse All’ shortcuts. It’s very useful!
