Fixed: Hotkeys to move panes fail and then blank WF tab

This is on Prod 4.3.2609150856 [chrome-152, win]. Do a move pane left followed by a move pane right and the Workflowy tab goes blank. That’s using hotkeys or CP to execute the actions.

EDIT: This seems to be a two pane thing. When I use move panes in a three pane setup everything seems to work okay.

I am not seeing this in 4.3.2609151940 [beta, edge, win], with 2 panes

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I have a date search open in pane 2. When I move that to pane 1 and then back to pane 2 the Workflowy tab goes blank and locks up.

Yes, with date search in pane 2, confirmed.

(If moving panes was just moving panes, rather than also refreshing those panes, then perhaps issues like this would be less likely to occur.)

I’m old school. When I refresh in a browser I expect the results to be current. Changes I have made on the current PC should be reflected as should any that I may have made on other platforms since I left that PC. So moving panes deserves a refresh in my view.

And, in simple terms, anything a user can do should work. I know it’s not a perfect world, but that should be the objective.

I agree totally. But I don’t consider rearranging panes to be a form of refreshing, any more than resizing a window or moving a tab to another window.

Well agree to disagree.

From someone who uses WF date saved searches many times during a day. The WF implementation of panes enables changing WF dates which are not reflected in other panes right away. A hole in the process which changing panes addresses, either on purpose or by accident.

Funny thing is changing panes refreshes the data far faster than reloading the tab. Nugget there for developers.

Interesting. Well, if they do keep move => refresh, then that will be a good workaround to remember!

Yeah, it is my go-to refresh now. Two pane mode. Not sure on 2+ panes…

We released a fix for this. Could you check again please?

Confirmed working. (No refresh of the search, which is my preference, though not @calsi 's IIUC.)

Just tested in production in a two-pane setup and it works fine. Tried it both directions, searches in both panes, whatever combos. Thanks for that. I can deal with the search not updating though not my preference.
