I just noticed the Local Backup feature in 4.3.2610151214-beta [desktop, linx]. Nice!
In the Settings, there is a poll asking about local backup of attachments.
I gave a 4 out of 5 because I would like to see it but am wary of the costs in time and compute. So I am open to ways to mitigate the time and computing costs. Less frequent? Delta only on most days?
I actually suggested local offline caching for attachments a while back for this exact reason !
Having the desktop app sync and download attachments locally first makes offline access seamless. Once files are already cached locally, backing them up adds virtually zero extra overhead or compute cost. It solves both problems at once !

Yes, I don’t see it on 4.3.2610151620 [beta, ff, linx] either. Perhaps it’s restricted the the desktop apps.
