Query based list - dynamic list

I’m sure I’m not the first to ask this, but I didn’t find anything yet…

I have a list of status updates and action items.

I can create a search that shows me uncompleted todo’s in that list - and save it as a shortcut, or start or whatever. Great!

what I want is to have a list that is based on that saved query. So something like what I have below. Anyone know how I would do this?

Thanks!

  • List 1
    • action item 1
    • stuff
    • stuff
    • action item 2
    • stuff
  • List 2 (‘show me the action items from list 1’)
    • action item 1
    • action item 2

@jprowisor The bad news: This does not yet exist. Sometimes called “dynamic nodes” or “search nodes,” I believe it is among the most-often requested features. Other features at the top of many people’s wish lists include reminders, recurring tasks, and quality-of-life improvements on mobile.

The good news: the Workflowy team regularly delivers smart and significant improvements. I can’t promise they will ever implement search nodes. But I’ve seen them undertake the architectural and tech-debt-reducing work that let them implement big improvements recently. These include large and small features like Panes, Tables, Calendar nodes, Google Calendar integration, email to WF, and new/improved themes. So I continue to have hope that we will have search nodes and other useful features sometime.
