Try variables in your templates

Try out variables that automatically fill in dates and user details when you create a copy from a template.

Add these anywhere in your template: title, notes, children.

  • {{today}} – today’s date
  • {{now}} – the current date and time
  • {{user_name}} – your name
  • {{user_email}} – your email
  • {{user_mention}} – a mention of you
  • {{user_initials}} – your initials

Great work!

Just a heads up, pressing new has the result highlighted. I’d also like the cursor to end up on right as usual, to quickly unfold the template or enter it. just nitpicking!

Have anything in mind?

for example {{{time}} to have only the actual time HH:mm. for a bullet journaling type of approach.
It would be nice to be able to add a shortcut to the add template so we can automatically reference o mirror in the template a spedcific node.

If we do {{ time }} it can only be text for now (literal 13:30) because we don’t have a “time pill” yet.
