- Large exports now generate more reliably with lower memory use. Copy and Download remain unavailable until the selected format is ready, obsolete work is canceled when you switch formats, and export previews display correctly.
- Markdown exports now include every item nested beneath a divider, with the correct nesting instead of silently omitting that part of the outline.
- Moving between documents during long sessions no longer leaves old editor content retained in memory, reducing memory growth over time.
- Apps started without a connection now use the latest cached subscription status, so Pro users no longer see stale free-plan limits or quota notices while offline.
1208/21Zoomed boards now show their root title. Boards and tables use the width available inside their pane while retaining their own scrolling, and Full Width Page now expands regular pane content as well.- On desktop, Log out has moved back out of Settings and into the top-right menu, which now also shows autosave status. Update notices, notification dots, icons, and secondary text are aligned consistently; mobile logout remains in Settings.
- Settings has been reorganized into clearer, consistently styled sections, with an integrated desktop header and a compact sticky Jump to control on mobile.
- Regularly active users now remain signed in: successful account refreshes extend the six-month login session instead of allowing it to expire while Workflowy is still being used.
1208/261297/11297/2Pane search now preserves queries opened from Jump to, waits briefly before running typed searches, clears with Escape, and keeps newly created matching items visible. The inapplicable Mirrors filter is no longer shown for mirror-rendered pane content.1309/11208/32Added numbered shortcuts for panes 1–8. Focus or create a pane with Control-number on macOS, Alt-number on Windows, or Alt-Shift-number on Linux; open the focused item in a numbered pane with Control-Shift-number on macOS and Linux or Alt-Shift-number on Windows. Close the active pane with Control-Command-W on macOS or Alt-Control-W on Windows and Linux.1307/1Pane workspaces now have shareable, bookmarkable URLs that preserve pane order, location, and searches across reloads and browser Back and Forward. While panes are open, the main pane also has its own navigation history without changing the other panes.- Pane widths now rebalance as panes open, close, reorder, or restore from a URL, and resize proportionally while the left sidebar opens or closes. During those width changes, header and edge controls stay aligned instead of shifting or overflowing.
1305/11305/2The active pane is now marked by a subtle tinted line along the bottom of its header without moving the layout.- Opening, navigating, and closing panes no longer leaves temporary mirror items behind in the document tree, preventing phantom state from accumulating during pane use.
1298/1Pane-local navigation now also covers Jump to: it navigates the pane where it was opened, and canceling restores focus to that pane instead of redirecting the main document.1299/11299/2Pane-local navigation now also covers Calendar controls, including date selection, Today, month navigation, previous and next commands, and the View action shown after moving an item.1321/11323/11323/31322/1Switching panes with commands now restores the last title or note cursor position. Clicking, Command- or Shift-clicking, and double-clicking preserve normal item and text selection instead of immediately collapsing it.- Pane breadcrumbs now also handle the remaining embedded-item edge case: when the direct parent cannot be opened, they fall back to the correct viewable ancestor. Pane headers also update when the displayed item changes.
- Actions on a pane’s zoomed-in root itself—not merely actions that use the root as a destination—now apply to the actual item: Add child works, move, mirror, and date actions are available, and deleting the root deletes its source item before safely zooming that pane out.
1301/1Pane-local navigation now also covers Send to confirmations: after moving an item from a pane, View opens the destination in that pane instead of switching the main document.- Shared-link pages and panes now hide Star and Change layout where those actions do not apply, while keeping Share available.
- Printing with panes open now prints the active pane and all of its content, including off-screen items, full-width tables, and boards, without virtual-scroll gaps or blank pages.
- Panes and the right sidebar can now remain open at the same time, with their controls positioned so they do not overlap.
- Item action buttons in pane layouts now use a smaller hover area, reducing accidental activation from neighboring content in narrow panes.
- Move Up and Move Down from a table cell now reorder the entire data row, and dragging rows works correctly when a table appears in embedded content or a pane.
1313/1Search now supportshas:childrenfor finding items with at least one direct child, and the operator appears inhas:autocomplete.- When completed items are hidden, emoji and quoted global searches now also exclude completed matches and anything nested beneath a completed item.
- A comments search with no results now shows a proper empty screen instead of placing the empty-state message over visible Home content.
- Presentation mode now keeps slides centered even when Full Width Page is turned off, without changing the saved page-width preference.
- Typing two spaces now reliably finishes inline code even when the browser inserts non-breaking spaces, and Command-Shift-C remains available as the inline-code shortcut on macOS.
- Opening and closing an image-only PDF preview no longer leaves a black rectangle over Workflowy.
- Icon buttons no longer retain a hover-like background after a mouse click, while keyboard focus remains clearly visible.
- Mobile action-bar buttons now update immediately after indent, outdent, undo, and redo, without requiring you to leave and refocus the item.
1283/1The desktop app now stores its configuration in the hidden~/.workflowyfolder instead of the visible~/workflowyfolder, safely moving an existing configuration when possible.- Local MCP
tree_patchcan now move an existing item after a sibling instead of failing with a circular-serialization error. 1296/11254/7Desktop MCP clients such as Claude Desktop now receive complete structured results for successful reads and useful structured error details when an operation fails, instead of empty results or generic internal errors.- Desktop MCP clients can now acquire, renew, inspect, and release temporary leases on individual items, helping parallel agents avoid editing the same item at the same time. Tree changes can optionally require those leases to remain valid.
- Desktop MCP clients can now inspect Workflowy’s update status, start an update check and download, follow its progress, and install a specific ready version after approval.
- Refunds for directly purchased App Store subscriptions now remove Pro access immediately instead of waiting for the former expiry date. Family Sharing refunds remain unchanged.
- On iOS, expired unfinished Workflowy subscription transactions no longer block a new purchase or prevent the App Store purchase sheet from appearing.
- The iOS upgrade screen now uses App Store-localized prices and accurately formatted monthly equivalents and savings. Plan prices align consistently, purchase controls wait until both plans load, failed loads can be retried, and Restore Purchases remains available throughout.
